The dignity rule

Guests of a shelter are not content. No photograph, video, recording, name, likeness, or identifying detail of any person receiving services appears on any Vinctura channel, including members’ personal accounts. This is not a preference. It is a condition of membership and a term of our partnership agreement.

Permitted imagery is the work itself with nobody identifiable: equipment, a kitchen in preparation, stacked chairs, boots by a door. When in doubt, we photograph the work.

Consent for members

We ask separately for each of four things, and you may agree to some and not others:

  1. Issuing you a record.
  2. Publishing that record at a public address.
  3. Allowing that public page to be listed in search engines. Off by default.
  4. Using a photograph in which you appear.

You may withdraw a record from public view at any time by asking. It moves to a withdrawn state rather than disappearing, because a register that silently deletes entries is not a register. The underlying ledger is unaffected, and the service you did still happened.
