Who turns up

Vinctura is one photographer in State College, Pennsylvania. I photograph every session myself. I have been photographing for about ten years.

This started as something else. Vinctura was built as a register for volunteer service records — a system for proving that somebody actually did what they said they did, checkable by a stranger years later without having to trust us. That machinery is still here and still runs. What it left behind is a habit: not saying things that are not demonstrably true, and building the checks that catch it when we slip.

It shows up in odd places on this site. Every price is published because hiding one is a conversion tactic that costs the reader time. Every promise on the booking page is one that can be kept on the first booking rather than the fiftieth. And there is nothing here about being the best photographer in State College, because that is not a claim anybody can check.

What this business is honest about

• It is new at this. The graduation work starts now. What is not new is the discipline about turning up on time, planning the route, and delivering when we said we would.
• The photographs on this site are the whole portfolio. Nothing here is stock, borrowed, or generated. If a page looks empty, it is empty, and that is the accurate state of it.
• Not affiliated with Penn State. Independent business, no endorsement, no arrangement. The University runs its own commencement photography. This site does not publish a current University free-photo programme because future arrangements have not been confirmed.
